Guests sailing with friends will likely find the prepaid Bar Tab worth it, as it is shareable and valid throughout the ship and at the Bimini Beach Club. Solo sailors will likely find purchasing beverages a la carte to be a better budgetary option. Packages must be purchased for the entire duration of each voyage.
The deck 12 sundeck also features loungers all the way forward as well as overlooking the midship pool. Oddly, this deck has Astro Turf flooring, which was a bit of a turn off for us. Not to mention, the deck plans label this area as the jogging track.

On my first cruise, I was only able to dine at the buffet for breakfast, so I was curious to see what the Port of Indecision Buffet offered for dinner. Currently dining at the JWB Prime Steakhouse will cost $65 per person, which allows guests to choose from a selection of appetizers, entrees, side dishes, as well as a dessert. Bar service did improve over our few days onboard; however, service in the dining rooms remained slow. However, the one glaring omission to the update was the bathroom!
It was terrible, so off we couldn’t drink it — like a pint of soda water somehow gone bad with a handful of mint. We tried sucking down a few gulps hoping it’d get less offensive. I carried it around the remainder of the night like a punishment, and eventually dumped it down our cabin toilet. Carrying it around the ship all night — full or empty — in case we wanted another very big drink made me feel like a toddler. My booking included five free drinks, but that wouldn’t put a dent in the extensive menus. Trying to taste through the entire roster would have cost hundreds of dollars, which explains why we couldn’t judge every drink on the menu.
Far smarter to focus on margaritas and parrots and palm trees, and keep the yacht rock to a minimum. Some of the areas of the ship, such as the Port of Indecision buffet, show their age by being more cramped than what you'd expect on newer vessels.
For newbies looking to try a cruise vacation or frequent sailors searching for a quick getaway, Margaritaville at Sea Paradise provides a good-enough experience that might very well get you hooked on Mother Ocean. Part of the Jimmy Buffett/Margaritaville vibe is that anything goes, as long as you remain laid back. As a Buffett fan, I would have preferred a more immersive experience. But I can also see where having too much Buffett make alienate newer cruisers and -- let's face it -- younger and more diverse passengers. The classic Buffett audience is aging; Jimmy's songs may seem timeless, but most were released in the 1970s.
